Orange Monkey Mechanic Round 4 of the National series took the team to Crow Hill in the New Forest, set amongst some beautiful scenery and wild horses. The course had been used the previous year for the National Championships and so our riders knew it well. This time it was to go the opposite way around but it kept the same theme of rolling singletrack and short sharp climbs, and although not technically difficult, with no time for rest we were in for a tough day!

Alex Baker As usual our three amigos (Ben, Nat & Alex) were full of confidence and raring to get out the starting gate as they again showed why our youth development programme is one of the best in the country. Alex was first to go in the Youth category and put in an outstanding personal effort to finish 4th after a tough battle for the 3rd spot and a podium position. This was an amazing result when you consider that this is Alex's first year as a Youth rider having come up from Juvenile last year!

Ben Roff In the Junior race Ben and Nat set off again in pursuit of the podium positions. Both boys have a good record at Crow Hill and today was no different with Ben taking 3rd spot and Nat 4th, again both riders are first year Juniors and are in the form of their lives right now with podium finishes becoming a regular occurance!

Alex Baker In the Expert category brodie continued his comeback from injury with a 17th position, it was not such good news in the Elite catgory though with Paul pulling out after just one lap not feeling well and Chris having technical difficulties. Chris still managed to finish 19th however proving he has the mental ability to keep digging away even when things are not going so well!

Overall this was another brilliant weekend of racing from the team who now turn their attentions to some regional racing before heading to Scotland for the big one... The National Champs!
