The yearly trip just down the road from the jungle to take on the 32 mile route around Welwyn has long been a trait for a few of the monkey boys and this year was no exception. With the course cut in length to just 26 miles due to road works you would think it would make it an easier day out but as the weather reached sub zero and the dreaded Offley Hill to contend with it was to be a tough Friday morning, and of all the days, it was a bank holiday! No rest for the wicked!

Paul went into the race looking for the win after a gain in form and a 5^th place finish two years ago he was optimistic but couldn’t find the pace he was looking for and struggles to an 9^th place finish.

Meanwhile Mark was looking to get some form back after spending two weeks in the Kenyan jungle on Safari and he put in a steady ride to take 30^th position.

Not a bad set of results for such a cold winter morning, Paul now flies to Ireland this evening to take part in the K-Capital Cup MTB race and is then back for another local hilly TT on Monday.
