2008 is flying by with the last round of the Thetford Winter Series already here. The team went there with some overall positions to contest with both our youth riders tied in 2nd place in the series and both needing a good ride to secure a podium position.

On the other side of the coin we had Will coming back from a virus and Graham trying to shake off an injury. Paul started well in the 4 hour category putting in some excellent times in the first few laps until he ran out of steam on lap 5. A good sign for the coming season though. Will called it a day at much the same time after using the race to get some valuable miles in after his lay off. Graham found his recurring knee problem was too much too soon and pulled from the race on lap 2.

So to our youngsters! Neither monkey had there best race but were both strong finishers in the top 10 but this time around it was Alex who got it with a 4th place finish and a 2nd overall in the series whilst Nat came home in 10th finishing the series in 4th position. Both boys did phenomenally well throughout the series leaving boys much older than themselves trailing in there wake!

The big result of the day though went to Mark “Snake” Allen who grabbed an 8th place finish in the two hour Men’s race out of a huge field of 174 riders! It was an excellent result considering he started about half way through the pack as they charged into the first corner. Mark is hitting some excellent form of late as he heads towards a vital period in which his main Time Trialling goals rest.
