NPS Round 4 - Eastridge, Shropshire
The penultimate round of the national series saw us once again step up and improve in all areas. It was back to the old days as the national series visited eastridge in Shropshire for one of the classics in cross country racing. As usual Alex was first to go in the Juvenile category and after narrowly missing out on a championship jersey last time out he was out to impress. That he did pulling out a 10 metre lead by the top of the first climb and blowing the rest of the field away as he stormed to victory over two minutes ahead of the rest of the field. Next to go was Nat and Ben in the Youth category and they both got off to a flyer side by side up the first grassy climb. Ben soon moved to the front of the race and took up third position which is where he stayed for the remainder of the race picking up his best result at National level and giving Orange monkey their second podium of the day. Nat also took his best result in the NPS finishing in 16th position. In the final set of races it was Matt who surprised everyone leading the talented Master field upthe first long climb and pulling out a big lead over the chasing pack but it was not to be and after a quick opening half hour he started to feel the effects of the tough course and had to retire from the race. Brodie kept up his improving form and took his best result of the campaign with a 20th place finish as he improves with every race and now looks forward to the final stages of trying to gain his expert license for next season. It was a fantastic days racing for Orange Monkey and once again the team have shown their hunger and commitment as they continue to improve race on race.
