After the incredible weekend a few weeks ago in Scotland the team travelled nearly as far to a remote part of the Lake District to compete in the third round of the National Points Series.  The team arrived on Friday afternoon to practice the unknown course in preparation for the challenge of the weekend ahead.  Could they match the amazing scenes from Drumlanrig… of course they could!

As usual it was our Juvenile rider Alex Baker who would be first off and with a run of good form that keeps on going, the team held their breathe in anticipation to see if our star rider could make it two wins on the bounce.

At the midway point of the race their were three juveniles locked in battle at the front of the race and it was our very own Alex Baker who was pushing on the front trying to break the others down.  As they disappeared from view with just a quarter of the lap remaining it was anyone’s guess who would come through to take the win.  To the joy of his waiting team mates it was Alex who came storming into the arena alone and with 20 seconds to spare and enough time to celebrate what was a fabulous victory.

So once again the benchmark was firmly set by our youngest rider and next to go it was our two aspiring Youth riders who did not disappoint.  Ben rode comfortably at the front end of the race, jostling for position with some top quality riders.   Running in 5th place with a lap to go, Ben attacked and came home in a brilliant 4th position to confirm his position among the top youths in the country.  Nat also had a good race finishing in 20th position after not feeling at his best.  It was a steady ride as he looks to build a solid base ready for the big leap into the Junior category next year.

Paul was next to go, still struggling to get into a rhythm this season in his first year as an Elite, it was another steady finish to 23rd position after a gruelling five laps.

Matt came to Grizedale bunged up with a cold having spent the week off work so it was a surprise to see the 30 year old pushing on the door of a top ten, but that’s just what he did, finishing in tenth position it was a remarkable ride.

Brodie continues his development with the team and had another good ride in the three lap sport category.  Brodie continues to look for the points he needs to push him up to expert level next season.

1st place…

So was it better than Scotland?  Damn right it was!!
