The second round of the National Points Series took the team north to Scotland and to the picturesque setting that is Drumlanrig Castle.  It was an idyllic location and perfect for what was to become the very first NPS win for Orange Monkey!

Alex Baker, our youngest and most successful rider to date took the Juvenile field by storm as he went off at blistering speed, splitting the field apart on the first climb with only two riders able to follow.  Two crashes mid lap gave him extra work to do but after one of the group had a mechanical problem it was just Alex and Ryan … who were locked together as they came down the big drop off and entered the arena side by side as the crowd went mad waiting for a spectacular sprint finish.  Alex took the final corner wide before powering to the line and winning by a wheel length to make it his first victory in the National series and one that will live long in the memory!

So then, that was a good start to the day, could the rest of the team follow Alex?  Well there was brave efforts from Nat in the Youth category who picked up a good 23rd place, Paul in the Elite category who struggled home in 25th, Matt in the Masters who took another impressive result back with 20th and finally Brodie, still struggling after a winter virus who took 23rd in Sport.
