Alex Baker - Rider of the year!

Alex Baker was named our first ever official "Rider of the year" as a team vote went in Alex's favour to take home what will now be our yearly competition within the team.

Although the competition was close the winner was a deserved one, Alex has had an outstanding season and shown what he is really made of, finishing the season 1st overall in the UK rankings as well as picking up 3 National XC wins and coming 2nd by just 200 yards in the National championships.

Alex joined us in 2007 as the second rider in our Youth Development Scheme. After a consistent first year in the Juvenile category, Alex took the field by storm this year and proved that he was the best in his age range for 2008.

He now moves up to the youth category where he will be ready for the challenges ahead. Alex shows maturity well beyond his years and his attention to detail and attitude to training have shown that this youngster from East London is climbing the Monkey ladder fast and has every opportunity to take the MTB world by storm!
